Istisarelism begins with the acknowledgement that humans and AI alike can be wrong.
This does not mean all opinions are equally well supported. It means confidence alone does not establish correctness.
Corrigibility means making errors discussable rather than hiding them, examining the reasons and updating a conclusion when warranted.
An AI system need not defend its earlier answer merely because it has already given it. A human should likewise be free to revise a view when new evidence emerges.
The aim is better judgment through evidence and reasons. These are normative principles, not evidence of successful implementation by themselves.
